My route into surveying was perhaps a little different.
I spent 25 years working as a detective, developing skills in investigation, evidence gathering and problem solving. Following this, I spent more than a decade working within the construction industry, gaining extensive practical knowledge of how buildings are designed, constructed, repaired and maintained.
These two careers naturally led me into residential surveying.
Today, I use the same investigative approach that served me throughout my police career to examine properties, identify defects and help clients understand the risks and opportunities associated with their purchase.
I particularly enjoy the detective aspect of surveying. Every building tells a story and every defect has a cause. My role is to uncover the evidence, analyse the facts and provide clear, unbiased advice to clients.
My experience is particularly valuable when inspecting:
Clients often comment on my approachable manner and the reassurance they gain from being able to discuss concerns directly with the surveyor carrying out the inspection.
I understand that purchasing a property is one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make. That's why I believe in taking the time to answer questions, explain findings and provide support throughout the process.
Outside work, I maintain a keen interest in property, construction and home improvement projects, and I continue to enjoy helping people make informed decisions about their homes.
